I was in Victoria British Columbia on Vancouver Island and go to Chiba Sushi as it was recommended for their great sushi and as you know I am all about sushi. Having eaten red tuna and farmed salmon in Thailand the last year was looking forward to some REAL tuna and salmon. My favorite is Tuna Tataki and Chiba Sushi does it very well, very tasty and fresh. All the Sushi was delicious and fresh and tasty. They even have a Canuck Roll for Canuks fans! Check out their website and stop in for a great meal. Tell them “Phil in Vancouver” sent you!

For the first time I go to Korea Town at Sukhumvit Plaza by Asoke BTS Station, there are about a dozen Korean Restaurants there and an Italian one. Doorae was recommended by a friend and glad we went there as the whole dinner was great. I found it interesting that the staff do all the cooking for you at your table, I eat out everyday and was actually looking forward to cooking LOL I really loved the sauces and chili to put with meats in the lettuce biting in the explosion of flavor was a symphony playing in my mouth. The Kim Chee was very fresh and delicious along with the potato salad and salad. The squid was cooked perfectly and the sauce was awesome. The Kim Chee Tuna soup was very interesting as I thought it would be mostly Kim Chee taste and the tuna flavor drowned out but I was wrong it was the perfect balance and very tasty. 0 I go to Akiyoshi Japanese Restaurant for a meal Phil in Bangkok http://www.PhilinBangkok.com Across the street from me and by Phra Khanong BTS station is Akiyoshi Japanese Restaurant which is famous for its Shabu Shabu but I go there and have one of there set meals. I know I am in Thailand but I can eat Japanese food everyday and may go to Japan just to try the real food. As Japanese Restaurants in Bangkok go this is one of the best non Japanese owned places, always fresh seafood and great dishes.

I have seen this chain in other malls but this was my first time to it. The Staff seem to be trained very well in the art of serving a it felt like I was in a higher class place. The food was great and for the price will be coming back again. I noticed on the menu it said it was managed by MK Restaurants and the story on the back about the history is interesting. Its by Ekkamai BTS and Bus Station

0 Doo Dee Thai Vietnamese Restaurant Siam Square Phil in Bangkok http://www.PhilinBangkok.com In Siam Square by Siam BTS station down Soi 4 is Doo Dee Siam Restaurant which has Thai and Vietnamese food. There is a very large selection of food to choose from and judging by the the people going there and other reviews was going to be good. The Vietnamese dish we had was great I have has it before at another restaurant, it was very fresh and tasty. One thing is you have to write down on the pad of paper what you want so get a waiter to help you as it has to be in Thai.

Close to the end of Beacon Ave in Sidney on Vancouver Island British Columbia is Sabhai Thai a popular Thai restaurant. It is very busy for lunch and dinner line ups start early, which gives you an indication on how good the food is. Our dinner was great, very tasty and fresh even at 8pm they were busy and the staff running around from inside to the patio all day they must have been tired. Check this gem out and reservations at night would be smart.

Nowadays, Japanese food has spread across national borders and become very popular worldwide. Japanese cuisine never fails to impress consumers with its excellent taste, elegant appearance and of course, its positive effects on health.

Though it has been presented in Vietnam for a relatively long period of time, nowadays, many people still think that Japanese food is a luxurious demand only for Japanese people and the ‘higher class’.
